Last night at Engage we all had a chance to give money for the work of Compassion in Peru. Our goal was to raise 3000.00 and today will be the last day that donations will come in. I have an “idea” as to the final number but will announce it tomorrow.
If you want to get in on the giving and you have not done so yet, you can do that here.
Here is why we are giving: Engage wants to make a difference! This time, partnering with Compassion International in Peru. On August 15, 2007, an earthquake registering 7.9 on the Richter scale struck the Peru coast. This earthquake devastated multiple Peruvian cities. Compassion International, which seeks to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name, was already ministering in Peru, and nine of their church partners were directly affected by the quake.
This is where Engage can help! We can provide rental support for three church partners for six months, which will allow the Compassion program to continue their regular, and needed, operations during the rehabilitation period. In addition to this “corporate” project for Engage, there are also opportunities for you to sponsor an individual child through Compassion International.
